This is my winter glade, hand drawn and cut out of cardboard to make a Christmas card a few years ago. I have framed these in a diorama box frame setting to recreate the feel of the scene. I was walking through the botanic gardens in Edinburgh during a particularly frosty spell and came across these amazing frosted red berry stems, Actea rubra, so I just had to photograph them to work with later. I teamed them up with an earlier drawing of Bishop’s lace with its lovely umbels. I love illustrating on recycled cardboard and re-purposing some of the packaging that comes my way. It’s also fun working in this stripped down graphic style and the red makes this one pop.

This is fragile because of the glass front, so I will wrap it as carefully as possible, hence the packing and shipping charge.
